Separation of church & state

What ever happened to the separation of church and state. It would seem to me that aspect has been either lost or forgotten. While I do not believe in the Polygamist way of life I believe in their right to believe in such a way of life. The united states had no right in my thinking to invade that religious community out west and take their children no matter how wrong our government feels their belief is. It is their right thru their religion to have as many wives as they chose to have and we have no right to infringe upon them. In their eyes they are not having sex with minors they are mating with adult women. Who are we to interfere with their ways of belief. After all they don't interfere with ours. I will state however the Polygamist way of life is one sided as the man can have many wives but what of the woman. Should it not be her right to marry several men as well. Just food for thought to see where this goes.
